The story behind MANTLE®

The creation of MANTLE® was inspired by our beloved Boston Terrier, Bella. As a designer, I've always been drawn to objects that marry aesthetics with functionality. However, many dog walking accessories, including leashes, collars, and harnesses, felt unsightly and poorly constructed. This gap led to the creation of MANTLE®, a meticulously designed modular dog walking system that enhances the shared experience of dog and owner. Our designs focus on both functionality and a refined aesthetic.

Kevin Cavallaro, our founder and a seasoned visual designer, invested extensive time in the conceptualization and refinement of MANTLE®’s distinctive system and custom components. Each product is designed in-house and built around custom solid brass hardware, undergoing numerous iterations to perfect every detail.

Design is our lead.

The defining feature of all MANTLE® dog walking accessories, including leashes, collars, and harnesses, is our Closed Loop System design. Traditional dog accessories often suffer from multiple, bulky connection points that detract from their aesthetic appeal.

Our innovative design features a sleek, single loop of rope integrated with a solitary connection point. This modular dog walking system employs patented sliding tension-locking solid brass hardware, creating an adjustable, seamless accessory system. The outcome is a product of superior functionality, refined visual design, and pleasing tactile qualities.

MANTLE® dog walking accessories are distinguished by their custom-designed hardware. To guarantee both beauty and durability, we opted not to use standard, off-the-shelf components. Instead, we meticulously designed our own custom solid brass hardware. We also developed custom fabrication tooling specifically tailored to produce our entire product line, ensuring each piece meets our high standards of quality and aesthetics.
